Perhaps it's time to display Storrer's page on the house. He refers to it as a tract house; Pfeiffer in Taschen says that it was called the Evanston Model Home, though no citation is given. Does he mention this in the Mono, Roderick ? The house does have a twin, The Moe House in Gary, IN. Usually a...

So, looking again at the plans, we find that Storrer must have visited the house, as his second-floor plan doesn't match Wright's. There goes the acoustic privacy -- but the rooms are bigger, and the second-floor front fenestration is a more attractive arrangement. The original plan looks like the ...

This sort of study helps understand FLW's architecture in detail. Who gave Brown much thought? When examined, it turns out to be a beautifully designed, intriguingly engineered little house, but no way is it only 1,100 sf.; it's over 1,900 sf. Nevertheless, it's a strong argument that Sarah Susanka...

I'd like to see more of the Brown house, Evanston IL. It seems to be hard to photograph due to foliage. I'd also like to see its interior.

That's less than a 4000 sq ft McMansion would sell for.

Wright had some other flirtations with rusticity. The Gale cottages (S.088.0 - S.088.3) had no indoor plumbing for example. Nor did the Gerts cottages or Spencer.

Re: Exhibit in Mountain Home, AR: E. Fay Jones' architecture

Too bad it's in Mountain Home, in the north-central part of the state and nowhere near any urban centers. It's an inconvenient trip even for people who live in-state.

In fact, the system was so old that many roadshows didn’t use it at all, instead hanging their own loudspeakers around the hall — with decidedly mixed results.
Roadshows that are carrying their own sound will still want to use their own, in almost any venue.
