Thank you for answering my question on this. I think I have a line on purchasing one of these books. Another GW question - it seems I saw reference once to a second FLLW GW house that was designed but not built - is this so and do any pictures exist of the plans?

Goetsch Winkler

Some time ago I thought I read a posting about one of my very favorite FLLW houses - Goetsch Winkler. I was sure this referenced a book about this house. I thought I kept the posting but as often I can not find it. Can someone please enlighten me about its title? As long as we are on the subject I k...

Robie Lamp house - Wright or Griffin?

About once a month I have a meeting in Madison. After my third or fourth trip I noticed that I had been walking by the Robie Lamp house everytime after I parked my car. I thought once I had read this was really designed by Walter Burley Griffin when he was in FLLW's employ. Looking at the house and ...

My beautiful wife surprised me with a copy of Walter Burley Griffin - In His Own Right for Christmas. I enjoyed it immensely and for any of you who might be interested here is where she found it: http://www.pbs.org/wbgriffin/shop.htm

Thank you Tn Guy for posting these great pics! I have to admit that I knew next to nothing about the Muirhead Farmhouse and was surprised it was available as a bed and breakfast. Looking forward to staying there some time.

Recently discovered pictures of Taliesin

Does anyone know the status of the photos of Taliesin I that were discovered a year or so ago and sold at auction? I am curious if they are going to be published.

Walter Burley Griffin In His Own Right

I am wondering if anyone is familiar with the PBS documentary on WBG and if so what they thought about the quality of the program?

Actually that would be southern longleaf pine. Curly refers to the grain pattern - such as curly maple - however the curly pine pattern is excedingly more rare. Sorry - but the forester in me had to speak up. That being said the pictures are great and I look forward to admiring the outside in person...

Thank you for the many good suggestions. Some of the books mentioned I have read and enjoyed. As for some of the rest I will keep my eyes on ebay.

Best books by and about FLLW

As someone who impulsively buys too many FLLW books and is sometimes pleased and other times disappointed I am curious what people out there think are the best books about and by FLLW.

Thanks for posting these - I have to admit that this was never one of my favorite houses. After seeing these great interactive photos I realize this was more of a function of the poor pictures I had seen in the past.

I am not a fan of those dining room chairs though.

Easy choice for me I'd take the Neils House. The realtor is a bit off though on the number of FLLW houses in Minnesota - without consulting my books I can think of seven houses.
