That was a curious comment about the civic center being the first atrium building. Also was unaware that Wright was that old.

In deference to Dr. Lee, might it be appropriate that any attempts to thwart the demolition and aid his purchase be conducted in coordination with Dr. Lee? It is his deal after all. Furthermore, if he were to agree to coordination and there is in fact a real threat to the building, shouldn't the Con...

Dr. Lee, The price problem may be that it is not yet listed and therefore one of two things may be happening. 1. He is asking whatever the market will bare and you are the market. No one else is out there to verify or justify the price. You may be being taken for a ride. 2. As it is not listed, the ...

"...knocked down and a parking lot will be put in it's place." Hmmm??? Wouldn't one think that it would be likely that this would have made at least the local if not the national news by now? Anyway, living in a FLW home is a unigue experience which may affect your life on several different levels. ...

Just some random thoughts after watching last nights film. It did have a large impact on me. I am not a fan of Gehry but some of the images were off the chart. The interior and some of the exterior of Bilbao is incredible. However, who is going to notice the artwork? Mercifully, he did design some o...

Just for the record. If you are in a pinch and need to use plywood for the exterior, there is a good product which is available. It is marine grade plywood. It comes in 1/2 inch. I forget the name. It has little graining but takes stain and holds up well. I have it on garage doors and it looks great...

It is simply a matter of statistics. The larger the pool of potential buyers, the greater the likelihood of a quick sale and or a sale. Unfortunately (or fortunately for us), the majority of buyers do not "get" a Frank Lloyd Wright house. A low ceiling here, a small room there, a carport, no family ...

Not to mention Broadacre City and the Mile High office building. Weren't these projects designed with low environmental impact in mind? Except for some minor fallout from the atomic elevators in Mile High, environmentally sound intentions such as the maximization of green space at the base was a maj...

Bumpy ride for sure, turbulence extreme at times. But since you are experienced renovaters the surprises should be of little consequence. Prior to owning a Wright house, I had been through 30 or so renovations. There were more surprises in the Wright house than all the others combined. I have found ...

Graves and Target are crying all the way to the bank... Word on the street is that Gehry is about to ink a deal with Walmart. Article in today's NYTimes art section on name architects in Miami and their current projects. Gehry is doing a performance center. He is quoted as saying that "it won't be a Bilbao ... and there will be rectilinearity..." He shouldn't just read the posts here; he ought to weigh in on occassion...
