Teater's Knoll Book
A new post on PrairieMod.com talks about Teater's Knoll and the upcoming book to be released about it. One of the points raised in the post talks about how even though Wright was an architect of major importance and stature, he seemingly took as much time and energy in designing commissions that mos...

Wright & Elbert Hubbard
We recently posted on Elbert Hubbard & the Roycrofters at PrairieMod: http://prairiemod.typepad.com/prairiemod/2006/04/produce_great_p.html We haven't been able to confirm anything yet, but we're looking into any solid connections between Wright & Hubbard. We do know that Hubbard was the mentor of D...

SAMARA exhibit
There's a new exhibit on SAMARA that recently opened in Indiana. You can read about it at www.prairiemod.com
Has anyone visited this house? It would be nice to know how it compares to some of Wright's other USONIAN designs such as Kentuck Knob, the Penfield House, etc.

Try - Frank Lloyd Wright American System-Built Homes in Milwaukee, by Shirley du Fresne McArthur, published by the North Point Historical Society, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I got my copy on e-bay. Excellent. Just bought a copy on ebay as well for the PrairieMod library. Has anyone been inside any of th...

American System-Built Homes
One of my cohorts made a post yesterday on www.prairiemod.com regarding the American System-Built Homes. We have been trying to uncover as much info as possible about these designs/homes, but there doesn't seem to be too much written about them. Does anyone know of a book or publications which have ...

Heurtley House Video Tour
I stumbled across a video tour of the Heurtley House and posted about it on www.PrairieMod.com. Has anyone been able to see the restored house firsthand? It's pretty amazing and definitely a labor of love. I thought I'd pose a question to the forum. Do you think the house will sell for anywhere near...

I know that the Unity Temple congregation and LPCI have some sort of shared ownership agreement. Plus UTRF is a secular non-for-profit that is largely responsible for all the restoration projects. Wouldn't that satisfy the church and state separation? Does it boil down to an image/marketing problem ...

Wright Restoration Funds
I've posted an entry and link on www.PrairieMod.com about the proposed earmarking of $3.1 million dollars of Illinois state funds for upgrades and renovations to the Dana Thomas House in Springfield. While this is important I raise the point that an equally important need exisits to have monies earm...

Edgar Tafel interview
I posted a link to an Edgar Tafel radio interview that was broadcast originally on WDUG Pittsburgh on www.PrairieMod.com yesterday. It's interesting to hear him dispute Franklin Toker's notion of how he supposed Wright to work on projects. Take a listen and see what you think. It would be interestin...

Duncan House, Where are You???
Hi,
I just posted a plea for information about the status of the Duncan House on www.prairiemod.com
I know this subject was talked about in a few previous posts, but I didn't see any new info on the subject.
Does anyone know anything about its current status?

Renting Wright Houses
I had a chance to tour the beautifully restored Muirhead Farmhouse this weekend and was completely amazed. (I've posted a photo and some more info at www.prairiemod.com) The current owners operate a bed and breakfast there and we began talking about the experience of staying overnight in a Wright ho...
