Does one of the "Great Room" ceiling beams actually bisect the stone column and extend out to the edge of the soffit?

The house, on a 4 acre site located within an enclave of 30 homes that range in price from $500k-$1.2 mill just sold for asking price $649K. This seems reasonable compared with the downtown (assuming Cinci) living that the owners are planning. Although I believe the buyer of the Boulter House ($695k...

House by Former Head of Residential Design at Taliesin West

I'm interested in what chatters think of this house just north of Cincinnati: "There's a Frank Lloyd Wright-Inspired Home Just Sitting In the Woods of Lebanon" -snip 'Tony didn’t want just anyone to design their house, either. He wanted it to be an authentic FLW-inspired home. He contacted Ta...

Certainly a delight to be lacking in flying bugs! My snakes and frog keep us virtually free of mosquitoes but flies, which seem to appear the moment your dog releases their bowels, are disgusting. The Glenbrow Tower ('64 Ted van Fossen) has a closet on the roof terrace with a rusted Murphy bed sprin...

Thanks HOJO. Now I can see a faint demarcation in the ceiling that is probably a hatch to the roof. Leave it to Schindler to make a mundane object beautiful! So all you west coasters, are there no insects/animals out west? I recall a sleeping porch at the Greene and Greene Gamble House in Pasadena a...

Do you know what the yellow structure is (under gallery, third photo down from the center row)? Joe thought it might be a structure to conceal a light.

It somewhat reminds me of the Schindler light structure in this photograph that we previously discussed: https://www.instagram.com/p/BrN21w2gb2Z/

We installed a 74,000 Laars system into our 2,200 sq ft house but this is not a DYI project. It was by far our largest expense. My husband is very handy in almost all trades but would really advice a licensed plumber trained in hydronic system installation.

One house that will NEVER be on this list is the "McMansion" owned by the CEO of DWR! I would have expected an architectural gem by Neutra or Lautner but instead here it is:

I was informed that this house is about to go on the market, when it does I will post a link- additional photographs might reveal some answers. For those interested in reading more about Tony Smith's influences besides Wright, the MOMA catalogue, "Tony Smith: Architect-Painter-Sculptor" is a good re...
