I used to live three blocks from this building, and actually rented a u-haul truck from this location. You would have never looked at the building twice. The exterior is nothing like the period photo. The all glass first floor has been enclosed, which completely alters its character. https://goo.gl/...

From the exterior, the building is mesmerizing. My abiding memory of the interior though, is of too large, too empty, too white hallw...

No evidence of a Wright connection:
Boardman grew up in Sikeston and played clarinet in a swing band while attending Southeast. After serving in the Navy in World War II, he went to Iowa State University, graduating with honors from the School of Architecture in 1950.

But we have similar lights pointing at low masonry walls on the exterior--for similar reasons, I imagine. What I would desperately like ...

From the Stamford house listing:
"If James Bond lived in Connecticut, he'd live here," the listing writes.

I formerly worked at a university in IL which had inherited a large collection of Sullivan artifacts from a benefactor. The university in question does not have a museum (that I know of--or didn't have one at that time). Various fragments from Sullivan buildings were thus scattered throughout the ca...

The description of the furniture lot suggests that it it's being sold by the owners (or a former employee of) of the Wright Mercedes showroom in NY city. The seller says "our previous Manhattan Park location." A charitable reading would suggest that perhaps the seller doesn't realize the distinction...
