When asked about kitchen size, you often read Wright homeowners say that "Wright obviously never cooked a meal in his life". The small size of the 'workspace' is clearly one aspect, but I've ...

Reading up on this gem, and came across this blog post that claims the How House was designed with a mistaken orientation:

Hi Jamesp—I'd also be very interested in seeing any interior photos of the Mathews house, particularly of the kitchen > dining > living room sequence. Quick shots with a smartphone are more t ...

A question for chatter KevinW:

Would you say the Bob Beharka designed house that you own was influenced by the Erdman Prefab #2?

If so, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts of the simil ...

I don't know how many of you are Olmsted fans... Even if you aren't, you might really enjoy the access to their archival gems....

Granted, with such a huge body of work and files, it's hard to nav ...

I find the stone masonry and wood shafts to be the most interesting aspect of the house... From the pool view, looking back at the full house, the shafts appear to both reach down into the slope, whil ...

I hope you guys can see that my suggestions are half-baked on purpose... I disagree with the author's conclusion that the reason why only 2% of newly built houses use an architect is because the colle ...

This sounds like an argument in favor of the already existing Design/Build model that some architects have been doing for quite some time. Architects who have "partnered" with specific build ...

Seems like a decades-old complaint: Architects are doing a poor job of supplying the market with valuable solutions for the affordable housing issue.

While I agree with the author in sentiment (and ...

I didn't find anything else written about this claim, except for a blog post from Dave Weinstein (he was also interviewed in the film). He doubts that Eichler offered Wright the job, due to finances: ...
