Re: A New Path Forward for the School of Architecture Founded by Frank Lloyd Wright
now-unnecessary accretions that accommodated the pupils, and restore every inch of both buildings to their 1959 states. All but impossible, but restoration to the mid-late forties would convey best the architectural value of TWest. Guerrero's photos, and colored available, of that period document t...

Whadarya talking about? Zombie Sprites have taken over the garden, waterslide homage to the Guggenheim, not just organic abstractions but realistic concrete cacti encased in the walls... maybe they can find a home for Wright's saguaro mural and replace it with something more appropriate to the decor!

Re: Light variation
The first theater was destroyed "accidentally" in 1952 by Wright burning a pile of leaves nearby.

Re: Drennan's "Death in a Prairie House"
I agree with Roderick that caution is called for concerning possible racial aspects, yet there remain facts surrounding this particular person at a particular place in time. Although his mental state can not be definitively accounted for, his crazed actions were undeniable. Carlton was a black man f...

Re: Drennan's "Death in a Prairie House"
A recent incident with Brodelle had to do with Carlton resisting a request (demand?) to saddle a horse for him which supposedly ended with a racial slur. It's possible this was not the only confrontation between them. Of course nothing would justify the events, but there may have been ongoing issues...

Is that an "air lock" of some sort happening at the stairwell landing?... or there's a landing below not shown on the plan.

TWest 1940... a revelation to see more images of the time it was the desert camp intended. Interesting on the plan to see a "Senior wing" in the apprentice court, which designates lodging by name. Males anyway, the "girls" appear to have been bunked in tighter quarters!

Breathtaking. Masterful replication of textures and detailing, a far more difficult task than even Midway Gardens. Refreshing to see signs of live such as butterflies interacting with the architecture, rather than 3D human zombies commonly seen milling about aimlessly.
Bravo Razin!

Re: Frank Lloyd Wright 12 Monograph set
What the market will bear, but Abe Books is a good gauge of expected cost... currently three near fine sets in the $7,000 range, one "used" at $3,500 with individual volumes $300 to $900... softcover sets around $2,000. All editions are in very good condition and with boxes; curious why individual v...

Is Jim correct in surmising that the bell-tower door might be post-Wright ? Sorry that my familiarity with TW history isn't what it could be . . .Not to be utterly pedantic, but two of the doors are irregular hexagons, the other two irregular pentagons---I believe.S Stephen, the bell tower is Wrigh...

Thanks! Never suspected a door was there from photos shot from across the room... so the overhead trusses would be parallel to the door "header". Must have been a frequently used shortcut.

Stephen... I believe there are a few such doors. The only one I'm familiar with and sure dates to Wright would be at his office, adjacent to the cabaret theater.
