FLW billiard table

Some Wright homes were designed with designated "billiard rooms". Are there any Wright designs for billiard tables or any actually built?

I can't help you with this, but would like to add a small bit of info. When the Manson House was listed for sale in 1973, the listing said that the furniture was in storage and included with the sale.

Re: Video: Drone-view of Fabyan Villa & Fabyan Windmill

Nice memory. I grew up in the area in the 60's and spent lot's of time at Fabyans. Lived there again for a few years 2006-9. I was a docent at the windmill one summer and did a bunch of the restoration work on the "garage".

I found his book to be a very valuable insight into the function of the fellowship. I now feel like I have better understanding of how things were done. Highly recommended.

The dimensions on the sideboard don't seem to work for these doors. And the design does not relate to the exterior window design.

William Greene house

I am looking for information on the William Greene house 1912 in Aurora, IL. Were there any leaded class cabinet doors in the original or the Robinson addition? The plan doesn't seem to show any except maybe in the built-in sideboard or kitchen cabinets. I know someone who claims he has a pair from ...

Did they get SIUE's entire collection? And do you know if they acquired it permanently, or if the materials are on loan. Much of the SIUE collection was stored outside and unprotected from weather and somewhat insecure. The City Museum offered to store it for them. I assume there was an agreement f...

Thanks, Paul.
I still haven't made it to the City Museum, but it is an absolute must, now. I figured they would be doing much more Sullivan after they got the SIUE stuff.

I didn't mean to say that it was specifically named "C". I just meant that, according to Besinger, it was one of 3 distinctly different designs.

Apparently, there were 3 different cottage plans for Maginel, the one shone being the C plan. Besinger references all three, but the first 2 seem to be lost to time. Anybody know anything about them?

Thanks everyone for the discussion on the roof engineering. Seems like a very robust connection at the ridge may be the best explanation for lack of splaying, but, the mystery lives on. Tom, would also love to see the link you mentioned. Can you give more direction to it?

Earlier posts in this thread seem to say that. Aluminum added.

David[/quote] We learned on our recent excursion to Neils that the aluminum posts are actually a covering over metal posts that offer the true structural support for the roof overhangs. In SDR's picture above, the posts actually continue all the way around the floor-to-ceiling area opposite the fire...

Maginel Wright Barney Cottages

I read in Curtis Besinger's book, "Working With Mr. Wright" a reference to 3 cottages designed for Maginel Wright Barney probably in the summer of 1948. Does anyone have any info on them? Especially plans or elevations?
