Re: David and Gladys Wright Guesthouse
I was on site for a photo workshop a couple of weeks ago, and I was shocked to see both the relocated guest house and the proximity of new construction on parts of the site that were the original house property. By agreement with the owner I cannot share any photos, but if you look at the site in Go...

Re: Article: FLW, Jr. and Wayfarer's Chapel
Historically, the area of the chapel and west of there has been pretty stable - that would include the Aaron Green Anderson House (a lovely design itself). To the east, however, things get ugly quickly - land so unstable that water and sewer pipes must be run above ground to keep from shearing, mult...

Re: Article: Barnsdall House - "Hollyhock" (Los Angeles, CA) set to reopen
Nice to see the structural steel posts added to the sun porch, as I recall, are no longer exposed. Still, the latest restoration would appear to be quite inaccurate. There's nothing obvious in the photo found in Monograph 4, page 161, that might reflect a 1946 revision. Like the current photo in th...

Re: Article: Barnsdall House - "Hollyhock" (Los Angeles, CA) set to reopen
Stan, the living room photo taken at the east end looking west does not reveal the small window on the north wall by the entrance to the music room which was added in the 1946 renovation. Has that been removed, or is it simply hidden behind the pier? Hidden. If you look closely at that shot, partic...

If they were as good at solving problems as making excuses, the pavilion would already be standing. As it is, the grift has already moved on to another mark ...

Re: Hugo Avila's Wright Renders
As noted above, we've been fortunate enough to enjoy Hugo's work at the Wright Attitude - along with several other outstanding renderers - for some time. To me, nothing is as thrilling as "walking through" an unbuilt design. To those who would advocate investing in rebuilding lost or unbui...

Re: Should there be a new social media closed group for Wright?
I have been with The Wright Attitude from the day of its birth. I enjoy posting photos of my visits to Wright properties and seeing others' photos. Facebook facilitates this sharing of information with simple menus for posting single photos or for creating photo albums. I have gotten more solid lea...

Re: Should there be a new social media closed group for Wright?
Stan- Doesn’t your site allow sharing photos of others as long as credit is given? It does, with the caveat that the usage is in support of some sort of point you are trying to make about the architecture. We try to stay away from "pictures for pictures sake" unless they're your own shots...

Re: Should there be a new social media closed group for Wright?
"Post only those photos, drawings, renderings, etc you personally took or have permission from the creator to use." I was surprised to find this as the second item in the Group Rules at the facebook Wright Attitude public page. Of course this would be a prudent move from a legal perspecti...
