SDR, very good points, and I agree that this issue is more than just the looks of any proposal. Maintaining the street context adds richness to what Wright's work was addressing and needed to be said. The answer to your question of what form a new structure might take is difficult, but maybe another...

You are probably referencing the great room ceiling profile. There is some relationship there to be sure, and we were not trying to recreate Wingspread's "wigwam" center roof treatment in this much more modest home. The last thing I want to do is try to do a literal imitation of any of Wright's work...
