Re: Book: "Growing up in a Frank Lloyd Wright House"

For those who have not seen it, and who have access to the SF Bay Area's KQED public television, "Frank Lloyd Wright’s Boynton House: The Next Hundred Years" will be shown on Saturday, January 30, 9 AM to 10 AM, KQED+, channel 9.2. It's well worth it.

Fantastic! Incredible job. Wonderful to see the "in-progress" videos. This group, if I can opine, would appreciate even more of the Before - In-progress – After shots, as well as scans of the c.d.s, comments on materials, etc. to really understand all you have done. Congratulations to you and thank ...

Re: Documentary: "An American Home: Frank Lloyd Wright's B. Harley Bradley House"

SDR, I scanned the pages as PDFs but when I tried to attach them to a private message to you, the only choice it gave me was to attach as IMG. My scanner gives the me the choices of PDF, JPEG, JPEG2000, TIFF, or PNG. My private message to you is sitting in my outbox. Since this technology is obvious...

There is a very interesting discussion of the interrelated siting of these two houses in Wrightscapes by Charles E. Aguar and Berdeana Aguar. If someone could guide me through the steps of posting an illustration, I will scan and post.

Re: For your consideration....

I have been in Green Gables many times. True it is not what you expect from a Greene and Greene, except for the card room. Once you get that expectation out of your head, it's clearly the work of a master architect...the quality of space, the flow, the quality of light are all marvelous. Detailing i...

Re: George Suyama architect

A quick google search shows the house was built by and is owned by Jerry Baldwin, an early owner of Starbucks and lead investor in Peet's Coffee, and his wife Jane Baldwin, photographer. There is a commercial vineyard on the property (J. Baldwin Wines, now closed) and he is a director of a non-profi...

This beauty was recently for sale, and pulled off the market in the California wildfires. Don't know if it was lost or not...it burned once before and was beautifully restored.

More views in the real estate ad show how there is a similar roof on the ground floor and the second floor...part of the house is one-story and part is two-story.

Re: Glore Residence - Lake Forest

Small point, but when I visited this house c. 1963, the ceilings and soffits were unpainted sand float plaster. They has a texture and color far superior to what we see today.

You may be thinking of "Stairway Walks in San Francisco" by Adah Bakalinsky. Or "Urban Trails: SF" by Alex Kenin; or "Walking SF" by Tom Downs. There are others also. Adah Bakalinksy's book is the best know, having been around in one version or another for decades.
