Warren Francis Plunkett's son, Peter, who is a lawyer with the family law firm operates the house rentals. He lives on the family side of the house and there was space for his father. The rental comes with a tour of the whole structure, which we received when we stayed there. May Mr. Plunkett rest i...

Thanks for posting David. It is nice that our local schools saw the light and reinstated the Illinois tax assessment freeze for historic preservation. We have a historic tax freeze for the Mary M.W. Adams House because it existed in 2011-the article is incorrect on dates. The schools withdrew partic...

from Roderick Grant The owner of Gilmore, whose name I cannot remember for the life of me, was a FLWBC member for a long time, a long time ago. I don't know if she still owns the house, which she inherited from her parents, but she is a very interesting ophthalmologist and teacher, and might open h...

A couple months ago, Chris Enck held an open house for Van Bergen and Wright owners and we got invited. The house is beautiful with lots of great light. The deep pour basement is rather amazing with much useable space. There is room to put in a garage if desired. Chris grew up going to a Chicago Pub...

Wes Peters Home for Sale, 80 Acres-Black Earth, Wisconsin

There was an ad for this home in my 'On Wisconsin' Alumni magazine that arrived today. It is a big Wes Peters home for sale in Black Earth, Wisconsin near Taliesin East, on 80 acres. Here's the link: http://snip.ly/puk4p#http://www.movetomadison.com/idx/mls-1734355-4212_county_road_jj_black_earth_wi...

Another thing that I keep forgetting to mention is kiddy-corner across the street from the Mary Adams house is a 1900 Silsbee Shingle Style house. It is fun to see the evolvement from Silsbee's 1900 work to Wright's 1905 work. Here's a link to a historic walking tour brochure from the Highland Park ...

The Mary Adams House made #19 of '20 Pieces of Architectural Brilliance in Illinois' along with 5 other Wright works. I thought I would share the article.
