Re: Should there be a new social media closed group for Wright?

Michael, you will enjoy this group. I have been a member for many years, mostly just as a reader not a contributor. I am not sure there is a group of people out there more knowledgeable about FLLW than those right here.

Wow, thanks for the offer Jamesp. I am sure many of the fine folks on this board will have some questions for you and I can't wait for the replies from your Grandmother. As well if you can share any recent interior photos of the house or historic photos I know I would be thrilled. If you need help p...

I bought my signed numbered copy of the print a while back. I am not sure the building will ever become a reality but being 8 hours away from where I live I thought I should at least buy a print.

Mod mom, we had the Thermador 30" all fridge column and loved it. It did mean that we had to get the Sub Zero freezer drawers but the fridge worked awesome and would definitely purchase another one. We did have two teenage boys at home though so the fridge was always full. Now that it is just the tw...

Mod mom, our last kitchen reno involved a product that was called Soapstone Granite. It is a granite that looks like soapstone. We had it finished in a honed finish so it was not as shiny. We had most of the beauty of soapstone without any of the negatives. We absolutely loved it. Although not FLW h...

Unbuilt Robert C. Miller house

Does anyone have a plan or drawing of the Robert C. Miller house drawn in 1942. The only reference I can find on the site is "The Dr. and Mrs. Robert C. Miller House, 1942, a lovely brick house in the Willey mode with garden walls, in Fremont, (unbuilt because the Dr. was drafted); " in reference to...

Matt, it would have been interesting to see Jacobs when it was first built and landscaped with no other houses around it. When built I believe Jim said you could see off the terrace down over the hill, a view now obstructed by white boxes. The land around Jacobs was developed after it was built, a f...

Tom, I don't see where you are saying that the handle or screen door were changed/altered since the video. To my eye it looks exactly the same. What am I missing?

Can anyone tell me what wood the walls in the bedrooms are skinned with? It looks like redwood but I am not sure. As well, is the color on those walls achieved ONLY through age or is there a way to speed up the process? I am not sure I have enough years left to have walls age naturally to that beaut...

Tom, yes that is from our visit a couple weeks ago. We were lucky enough to be away from home (Saskatoon Saskatchewan) for 6 weeks. In that time we got to tour Meyer May, Westcott, Kentuck Knob (met the owner Lord Palumbo), Fallingwater, Unitarian Meeting house, Jacobs 1 and Taliesin. Also saw from ...
