Re: FLW Music Stand
They date to 1948 or later but prior to 1950. Shavin was the first to receive then Zimmerman shortly after. Taliesin West has them in the cabaret theater and at Taliesin it is in the living room and theater. There is a drawing of it for Taliesin likely dating to the early 50’s on a plan for the caba...

Re: FLW Music Stand
Hi David,
They sent me a link to what they have on file, I’ve sorted through everything with no luck. The music stand in question is the one used for Zimmerman and Shavin along with both Taliesin’s.

Re: FLW Music Stand
Is it possible for someone to post the photo of the plan. I am working on a model that uses this and I can not find any detail sheets with it nor do I have the funds to buy the book.

The lesson here is don’t sabotage someone’s work because you wanted someone else besides the outsider. Did they not realize Wright’s work on Johnson Wax had similar questions of structure and they passed? I mean really it’s sad they did anything they could to get it to no...

Thank you DRN for clarifying that. I did not know he used it. If only Wright knew of Thin Shell Concrete. If anyone wonders what can be done with thin shell with rebar and wood forming here is an example. This church was designed by architect Bill Ryan in 1959 for Immanuel Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/484476707...

Wright- ambitious genius who, at times, was stifled by incompetent contractors who failed to see or execute his vision properly. The community church was not a failure of a Wright design, rather it is a failure of the clients budget, city, and contractor. It still is a gem but Wright was none to ple...

I just merely drew a board and repeated that then draped the lines onto the surface below. This will look better with wood textures. The floors are ponderosa or southern yellow pine. The wood has an oil based coating with Johnson’s wax. This darkens the wood to the “Cherokee red ...

He designed the BOK Center in Tulsa, the largest ramp in the world, as of 2008, and his only arena. I was there at the opening and walked right by Pelli and a group of people. I would have taken a photo but alas I did not as I was enamored by the shear beauty of the building, a very modernistic yet ...
