Re: Sure, we can call anything "Frank Lloyd Wright"

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/6191-Crestbrook-Dr-Morrison-CO-80465/13800644_zpid/ Found this interesting home on Zillow with some Wrightian touches. Were there any students/apprentices who had a practice in the Denver area in the late 60's? Too bad the interior wood has been painted--or so I as...

1979 Haddock House by TAA

My apologies if this has been posted before. I stumbled upon this Zillow listing for the 1979 TAA authorized Haddock house and thought it might be of interest. Enjoy the many photos. https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/54799030_zpid/globalrelevanceex_sort/42.326617,-83.78691,42.307006,-83.815492_r...

Had it been built according to the preliminary plans, the Chauncey Griggs residence might qualify as a rustic design. With vertically placed, split log "siding" it definitely would have had a cabin-like vibe. I have often wondered how "old west" the Arnold Friedman home is... the plans are intriguin...

I realize this question is off topic, but this may be the appropriate spot to ask considering the new contributions from AWG. Several years ago, on this forum, there was mention made of a book in the works about Aaron Green's work. Is there a book in the making? Any details?

I had heard a movie was filmed at the Lykes residence. The title was something like "Brothers Keeper" or "My Brothers Keeper"--I've never been able to track it down. Does anyone know the proper title, or is this just a rumor?

Seeking Rare Usonian Images

From this forum I've been able to "tour" many of Wright's Usonian designs that recieve little or no press. There are a few Usonian interiors I have yet to experience and was wondering if any of you may be able to share personal photos or provide links. The following designs are of particuluar intere...

Palli: thanks for your interpretation of the Sander mural. I'm beginning to think that much of the decorative ornamentation found in Wright's work is purely a graphic flourish and not always connected to the design or location. The Sander mural to me has a native American vibe which would be appropr...

According to a brochure I received from a friend who visited Price Tower several years ago, the copper mural in the first floor lobby is the work of Pauli Lame. The piece was added to the reception room in 1978. The brochure states that Pauli is an internationally known designer-craftswoman. Does an...

Eugene Masselink Mural

Many of Wright's decorative motifs were abstractions based on something in nature. Does anyone know if the Eugene Masselink mural, on the entry closet doors, in the Frank Sander house follows this theme or is it a nonobjective design? Your speculations are welcome! A photo of the mural can be found ...

Araphoe Acres is an interesting place. Once inside the neighborhood, you feel as though time has stood still and you are back in the 50's. I've only had the opportunity to tour one home there and it did have a Usonian feel--flat roof, indoor/outdoor concrete block, clerestory windows and the most in...
