Steel pipes have a chemical reaction with concrete over time called electrolysis and the pipes gradually decay over time. I think you may be mistaken... That is not the definition of electrolysis. (Actually, when referring to metal piping, electrolytic corrosion would be a more correct terminolgy.)...
