About 20 years ago there was a replica of sorts of Fallingwater built near Lake Geneva. I do not believe this is it though as the site doesn't match. It was on a larger estate and not visible from a road.

This is wonderful news. I was under the impression that this house had been torn down. I toured it 3-4 years ago and it was by far my favorite of the tour. Very livable design.

What is the story on the restoration?

Copas is about 75 minutes northeast of the Twin Cities and about a half hour north of Sala's office in Stillwater. Not much to the town though.

I was in a Susanka home once and I found the first floor to be truly wonderful. It had great proportions, materials, and flow - in a word cozy. Then I went upstairs and it was like a completely different architect and not a very good one had designed it. As for Kelly Davis it is my fervent desire to...

I wasn't aware of this cottage - where near Taliesin is it? I'd like to drive by it in my next visit.

I've taken many trips to Taliesin but my favorite memory is when I got to meet Edgar. He was very friendly and conversational. He told me I made him think of William Wesley Peters due to our similar sized frames and our straining to enter Wright spaces. How fortunate to have experienced such a long ...

Apprentice Shreve Babcock

Does anyone have any information on former apprentice Shreve Babcock? How long was he at Taliesin and did he continue to practice architecture after he left? I am inquiring on behalf of one of my employees who is a relative of Shreve.

This is one of the more interesting threads recently. I've always thought of the kitchen and the garden as the souls of the home. As for the TV I think Susanka is on to something with her away room. A house needs at least two sitting areas - one to visit with friends and family, read, listen to musi...

Thanks for the suggestions Wrightgeek - we live in central Wisconsin. A chance to see Rush Creek Village is probably enough to tip our decision - I had not thought of this but would love to see it.

It is our intention to see Kentuck Knob - we are contemplating if we have time to swing through Ohio on the way out and see the Westcott house also. To me one of the most exciting part of this besides seeing these houses in person for the first time is sharing the experience with our Daughter.

Pope Leighey House

We are heading east this June on our family trip and will be touring the Pope Leighey house for the first time. For those that have been there can you recommend any other worthwhile places to visit in the vicinity? Museums, homes, good restaurants - any advice will be appreciated.

Never had the privelige of a tour by an owner, and never expect to, but for a public site the old Tea Circle Tours at Taliesin were the best. Seldom seen parts of the estate, an excellent tour guide I never wanted to correct, and the pastry and refreshment breaks were the best.

Thanks DRN for the advice - I usually make it to Spring Green twice a year so I plan on doing some sleuthing on my next visit. If I have any luck I will share my find. For anyone who wanted to see the In Wisconsin report I attached a link- it was on the January 6th broadcast. http://wpt2.org/npa/IWF...

I just watched In Wisconsin and this was not on it nor was it on the advertised stories for next week. Did you mean a different show?
