I was in a Susanka home once and I found the first floor to be truly wonderful. It had great proportions, materials, and flow - in a word cozy. Then I went upstairs and it was like a completely different architect and not a very good one had designed it. As for Kelly Davis it is my fervent desire to...

I've taken many trips to Taliesin but my favorite memory is when I got to meet Edgar. He was very friendly and conversational. He told me I made him think of William Wesley Peters due to our similar sized frames and our straining to enter Wright spaces. How fortunate to have experienced such a long ...

Apprentice Shreve Babcock
Does anyone have any information on former apprentice Shreve Babcock? How long was he at Taliesin and did he continue to practice architecture after he left? I am inquiring on behalf of one of my employees who is a relative of Shreve.

This is one of the more interesting threads recently. I've always thought of the kitchen and the garden as the souls of the home. As for the TV I think Susanka is on to something with her away room. A house needs at least two sitting areas - one to visit with friends and family, read, listen to musi...

Pope Leighey House
We are heading east this June on our family trip and will be touring the Pope Leighey house for the first time. For those that have been there can you recommend any other worthwhile places to visit in the vicinity? Museums, homes, good restaurants - any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks DRN for the advice - I usually make it to Spring Green twice a year so I plan on doing some sleuthing on my next visit. If I have any luck I will share my find. For anyone who wanted to see the In Wisconsin report I attached a link- it was on the January 6th broadcast. http://wpt2.org/npa/IWF...
