Re: Any Recognize this Usonian Window
Turner, as builder of Christie, would not have had anything to say about siting. That was Christie's choice, apparently.

Re: Any Recognize this Usonian Window
G/W proves that, however delightful they may be, perfs are not necessary. Christie and Baird are also sans perfs and delightful. Perfs were not even intended for Baird. On the other hand, while perfs were intended for Brandes, it was built without them; they were added much later. In this case, I be...

Re: WBG's Blythe House is coming on the market
Blythe is one of WBG's best houses. The interior is splendid. I visited in 1984 on a house tour during a Society of Architectural Historians annual meeting in Minneapolis. Although the bus tour to Mason City and back - by way of Winona, Rochester and Owatonna - took place on May 1 and 2, the trip to...

Re: Olgivanna Lazovich Lloyd Wright: Opinions & Perspective
Most of those who were relieved had left long before Olga died. She was polarizing. Some apprentices practically worshipped her, and they were likeliest to have stayed after FLW died. Others were less enthusiastic, and left just days after the funeral (Curtis Besinger, Mark Heyman). John de Koven Hi...

Re: FLlW and Jim Crow
Obviously! The longer the strongest survive, the fewer weaklings are born, and a balance exists. Look at every other life form on Earth for proof. Civilization is the gradual removal of humans from the natural surroundings, and is therefore an affront to nature. No creatures have ever posed a threat...

Re: FLlW and Jim Crow
The body is also designed to regulate salt. Too little, and you faint; too much, and you pee. Salt doesn't cause heart disease, even though it can exacerbate an existing condition. I will never give up salt, butter or bread. I have lived on a high-carb diet my whole life, and have never taken a pres...
