Re: Planned Site Outage: Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 3pm CDT

The attempted upgrade was not successful. After an hourlong outage, we were able to restore the site from a backup from earlier in the day, which *may* mean some posts could be missing. We apologize if this is the case. We will need to do more research and testing before attempting this upgrade agai...

Planned Site Outage: Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 3pm CDT

We will be updating the PHPBB software to the latest version at 3pm CDT on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 3pm CDT. The site will be down for a short while at that time. Please ensure that you save or post any drafts you are working on before that time. Thanks!

Re: Email Notifications Restored?

It worked once for me, yesterday, but appears not to be working now. I'll have to investigate further. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up!

Re: Email Notifications Restored?

GMail definitely has a spam folder, but they hide it pretty well. On my personal account, I have to scroll down the sidebar to find it. But if others are still having this issue, then it's probably not working still. I'm a little stumped, and am not going to be able to spend much more time on it at ...

That's worrisome. Have you checked your spam/bulk mail folder?

Re: Email Notifications Restored?

Ironically, reply notifications to the admin account may not be working properly. But it's a special case for a lot of reasons. Hopefully you get a notification of this message?

Email Notifications Restored?

I believe that email notifications have been restored. Now, when you make a post and check the "Notify me when a reply is posted" box, I think you will receive an email upon the next reply. I have tested this and found it to be working for me, but please let me know by reply to this post if you find...

Re: New Look!

Thanks for everyone's patience with our updates to Wright Chat! The new look makes it a bit clearer that Wright Chat is part of the Conservancy, and hopefully is also just a bit cleaner and easier to read. It also looks good on a mobile device, should you access it that way. The idea of a wiki is in...

Re: Donahoe Triptych

A reader of this thread wrote in to the Conservancy office to share a newspaper article with some more background on the Donahoes.

I also wanted to add that the administrators are proactively banning any profiles that have commercial links not related to architecture, even if they have not posted anything. If you have any suggestions on ways to further combat spam, update the forum or improve the user experience, please use the...

Personal Messaging

After monitoring WrightChat for the past eight months, the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy has determined that SPAM is now under control and personal messaging can be re-enabled. Several WrightChatters aided us in this endeavor and I thank them for their diligence. If you encounter a suspici...

The Classified section of the SaveWright website was placed on inactive status last year due to limited participation. We are currently reevaluating how this section of the website functions and regret that it will remain inactive until a decision can be made. If you have any thoughts on this matter...

In response to the last two posts: 1) Yes, please ignore all suspicious threads. We are taking these down, banning users and forbidding their IP addresses. (Also, thanks for the thanks). 2) We check all suspicious posts very carefully to ensure that what we are taking down is SPAM and not genuine. T...

I am sorry to hear that the older posts may not be displaying correctly on your machines. We have not enacted expiration dates so the age, as one member pointed out, should not be a factor. A quick check on my machine confirmed that all posts are accessible. We will look into this issue although the...
