Found! Shoshana Knapp tracked it back to the first issue of "Taliesin" magazine. It was in an editorial, which appeared in orange type alongside the pages of text. She scanned it for me, so I was able to confirm that accuracy of the quote in Ayn Rand's letter. That issue does not carry a date of pub...
