I had considered the Kickstarter idea several weeks ago, and so I went to their website to do some research on the criteria they specify for their fundraising projects. They require that the project be something creative in nature, and they have a number of clearly defined categories that a project ...

I would gladly commit $200.00.

The "developers" who are holding the house hostage are asking a $2.8 million ransom for the house and the property.

$200 a pop would generate $3 million. Great idea Mr. Grant.

Mark Mills Designed Residence For Sale In Carmel

Photos and video. Not really my cup of tea, but certainly very organic.

Mr. McCrea-

Your apology was gracious and seems very sincere. I think I should apologize as well for being so blunt with my response.

BTW, thanks for your wonderful new book on Taliesin, and for your contributions here on the forum.

Now that we have taken care of that, let's carry on, shall we?

RonMcCrea- Is it a mistake worth noting, rather pointedly I might add, that one of our long time and very knowledgeable posters inadvertantly misspelled someone's name in their posts here? FYI, "m.perrino" has been associated with TWest for a number of years, brings a lot to this forum, and probably...

The multi-billion dollar floodwall proposed for downtown Cedar Rapids after the massive floods was supposed to include the Sullivan bank within its protective zone. Maybe the parameters have changed? Would that be such a shock that our government might change the rules or boundaries during the cours...

Sullivan Bank In Cedar Rapids, IA

IMHO, the future of this bank building is every bit as important as saving the David Wright Residence. There are only 8 of these buildings in existence, and this one falls into the upper half of this very small sampling in terms of its architectural and artistic qualities. These relatively modest co...

Paul R.- I agree with you completely about the addition to Rosenbaum. As I read R. Grant's comment about Sondern/Adler, I immediately thought of the Rosenbaum addition. Maybe it is because the original Rosenbaum structure is such a pure Usonian that needs nothing added or subtracted. But the scale o...

Jjen- Welcome to Wright Chat, we're glad to have you here. No apologies necessary. You and your architect appear to have done a very nice job of adapting a FLW Usonian plan to work with today's lifestyles and building codes. Congrats to both you and your architect, and here's hoping that you and you...

Now, with the 60-day standstill agreement expired, the race is on to further delay demolition by designating the held-for-ransom David Wright Home as a landmark (you'd assume it already was, right?). If that happens, the possibility for demolishment will be thwarted for either one year (approval fo...
