Okay... first, thanks again to everyone. Promised responses: JJM2... I appreciate that, and no doubt you have a good understanding of the challenge! I've never looked into how 3D models are printed. I assume you still have to do a layout of some sort and "input" dimensions, etc? Also, where did you...

What a wonderful thing! Your work here and on your digital model have really added to my understanding of T1. Photos and plans can do a ton and are probably the most important for documentation, but there is something about a model that helps with the overall grasp of such a complex, rambling work. ...

Kraus House Sections?

Does anyone know if plan sections of the Kraus House have been published? I have elevations from Monograph #8 1951-59 and a plan from Jane King Hession's book about the home. Still on the hunt for the ever interesting sections. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Grr. 12 acres and they could not figure out a way to preserve this house? Feels like a trend now in Minnesota where monied parties buy a rare, accomplished work just to deface, or worse, tear it down. It's not like the name Wright is no longer the most famous name in American architecture. And, it's...

There is a winding driveway and garage on the street level. A berm hides the new concrete foundation walls. So, the garage accounts for one of the two levels in these views.

Photos from the street of the construction site recently. I was not able to see the connection of the new structure to the Wright house from the street or if there are any changes to the living room facade. I was able to tour the home while the Olfelts were still living there. It was so wonderful to...

For me, images that include the vehicles of the time always help snap these homes into a broader context. They are visual reminders that Wright was ahead of his time. Thanks for these. For what it's worth, there appears to be shot taken of the same scene from a different vantage point on p.27 of FLW...

Some additional images showing model details. Again, the tolerances for 3D printing regulate model detailing and thicknesses. These images are also renders of the computer model, which is still in progress. http://www.thisisfolly.com/images/blog/story/Taliesin1NorthEast3.jpg http://www.thisisfolly.c...

I had trouble with an old email attached to my JJM account. Long story short, I am now JJM2. Thanks for all the encouraging comments and interest. I am glad this may be of use to the Wright community. I admit to being intrigued by JChoate's suggestion to create Taliesin 2 and 3 models as companion p...
