The Palmer house in Ann Arbor still has June 28 or 29 open for rental. It's pretty pricy, but it would be a treat to spend the night there.

Does anyone know where one can obtain a list of staff positions and their associated salaries for the Foundation, TPI and FLWPT? Since the organizations are nonprofits, they need to file IRS form 990s, which detail total spending for salaries, and specific salaries for board members, trustees, key ...

We just got back from this concert. It was just this side of heaven - a warm summer night, a friendly crowd, good food, a great jazz group, and, of course, the newly-restored Turkel house. I first saw the house in 2006 when the conservancy conference toured. Messrs Silk and Morgan had just bought it...

In the guest bedroom, with the revolver, it seems, and it was Doheny's son. That was in 1929, well after the Doheny Ranch project was shelved, apparently after the Doheny's became involved in the Teapot Dome Scandal around 1924. http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/flw/flw04.html http://www.findagrave.com/cg...

There was an episode of Rowen Atkinson's Mr. Bean, in which Mr. Bean painted his flat quickly using a firecracker in a bucket of paint. In this house, the bucket had white paint... Fortunately, it looks fixable, and the fireplace escaped the paint. I suspect the slatted wood on the underside of the ...

Two comments: 1. It seems to me that fireplaces are low on the list of polluters, well below coal burning power plants and automobiles. Banning them may give folks a feeling of contributing to improving the environment. I wonder how many who voted to ban fireplaces also have an SUV in the driveway, ...

The photo exists somewhere on the web already. Go to step 2. b. You have a photo on your computer. You will need t...
