Re: Falling Water landscape drawings

Don't be fooled by the light of the lamp. The ceiling drops down in the whole hall, probably to hide the beams and/or counterweight. It seems that nothing remains of the original?

DRN, do you have more pictures and would you be willing to share them?

Re: Usonian Dreams finally becoming reality

about circulation:
- from great room to bedroom
- from great room to bathroom
- from bedroom to bathroom
is it a good idea to use the kitchen as a corridor?

Re: Neils House (Minneapolis, MN) is up for sale!

Tom, I had not noticed the wood risers. You are definitely correct: They are an addition. Not too bad, nicely integrated. Why wooden risers at the stairs? Why a little raised metal edge separating the fireplace flagstone floor from the red flooring? Maybe the red flooring is now an overlay of Vinyl?

A long time ago I knocked on the wall and it sounded hollow. I asked BBP if it was a wooden construction and he nodded.

HOJO made a comment about a different Google view which I didn't get) then it may always have been merely a light fixture, despite what's shown on the drawing. I only remarked that what I see when I surf to Google Maps today (and you also can, so don't need to get it) is different and blurrier from...

Note: the Google maps picture of previous page shows the skylight.
(The actual Google maps looks a bit different)

So, it was initially build without the bas-relief, and soon after FLW advised by the installation of the bas-relief and designed the skylight for it? Is that the story?

I like the Art Deco bas-relief. Was it built in? In the picture labeled 'Carleton Wall in his living room, 1949' one can see on the very left 3 shelves, against a brick wall and a skylight above (also drawn in plan). In the next picture one sees the same wall but now in front, with the bas-relief, ...

Genau (Exactly).

Zeigler:

Perhaps I should have written Tz(eye)gler, or even more precisely- Tz(eye)glare.

Not 'glare', 'gler' must be pronounced briefly like in wrangler, or (maybe in this case more applicable) like in 'lieber meister'

Emphasis on the first syllable Ts(eye)
