I'm also a social media agnostic, and don't belong to any of them (I've likely lost out on connections as a result, but still). But I've also been tempted to join instagram, but since it's owned facebook, I just assume that it's corporate ethos, if not equal to its parent company's, can only trend i...

Yes, the drawer fronts are spaced out with fixed panels between them.

The fixed panels line up vertically with the fixed panels that separate the sets of doors for the cabinets below, when there are cabinets below the drawers.

You grip the drawer there and pull open. Not sure if he keeps this approach with later homes; ours is pr...

Is it true that only 30 out of ~250 Adler-Sullivan buildings remain today?

What does that ratio look like if we consider Sullivan's output after the partnership dissolved?

This is a beauty. The wood has never been painted. The roof is the cedar shakes that Jones was calling for at that time. The flagstone looks to be in wonderful shape (oh to live in a warmer climate where freezing is rare!). The only significant change I can detect is the railing around the deck. Tha...

It's suffered some remuddling since then: wood painted inside and out (brick in some places). Single pane windows appear to have be...

During a Spring 2016 FLWBC tour of Jones' residential work in and around Fayetteville, it was noted the striations in the lintel at the fireplace opening were done by Jones himself with a stick I heard the same thing from Glen Parsons, though he said that Jones told him that it represents the smoke...

I figured they would be doing much more Sullivan after they got the SIUE stuff. Oh I hadn't heard that. Did they get SIUE's entire collection? And do you know if they acquired it permanently, or if the materials are on loan. When I was teaching at SIUE, you would encounter random fragments on campu...
